Don't cheap out on protecting your feet.

my next outdoor shoe will be bought at REI, they're 100% satisfaction guarantee, so if you're not satisfied, you can return the shoe hassle free.

I've been using Vasque Breeze GTX XCR boots all summer doing day hikes in Yosemite and have been very pleased with their performance. They need very little break in time and have great traction on the granite rocks.

I wonder what REI does with all the returns ? Do they resale these items at a discount or what ?

i'm not sure, a lot of the stuff that's returned/exchanged is torn or broken. my friend bought an old REI pack that had a ripped strap and traded it in for a comparable model.

Arbesko Model 482:

Kind of heavy for a hiking boot, but really comfortable. They are hard to come by in the US.

I just can't seem to wear them out, and I'm the guy who breaks the soles of shoes and boots regardless of price.

kraz, how do you like them? i never tried them on before because i'm more into light weight trail shoes rather then boots, but then again, I've never done any real long treks.

I have a pair of Asolos too. I think they're all made in Italy (correct me if I'm wrong). Mine are heavy hikers: very solid.
