It's a VetDayaganza (page 10) Hammered GW and is quite substantial. I was tempted by a thinner GW at the last Knob Creek -- it was in Bama Clay with tan Micarta. Jeff Law considered a fatty GW -- I think it was green with black Micarta. I bet Jeff would like this one -- it's thick, but very pointy due to the swedge. It's also hollow ground, so it'll slice better than most thick little knives. As a collector, I'm not a big GW fan; I felt that they were over-produced. However, I like this variant a lot and am very happy to have finally acquired one.

Jim I handled one of those at Blade that someone was wearing. That is the ultimate GW in my opinion. Great score.

Very, very cool. I am usually not a fan of the fatty small blades, but with a hollow grind I could make an exception.

I agree about over production too!
The GW is one I just don't carry since the stainless Dogs came out. The odd handle to blade ratio and the limited service mine saw made me retire it from rotation.
If I had a GW like yours....THAT would change my mind entirely!
The grind makes a better slicer and the swedge makes it a piercer as well. Yours is the first Game Warden I can truly say I wish I had!
VERY well done Jim. Very well done indeed!
Peace.

I like over production, but I'm a user, not a collector, so my perspective is different. Over production = greater supply vs. demand ratio = cheaper knives for me to beat on, so I'm a fan of the concept. I'm not usually very crazy about the GW design, though - but this one is pretty awesome

That's one of the nicer GW variants in my opinion.
After handling both the GW and AD, I gotta say I prefer the AD. It's a little longer and feels more comfortable, I'm still disappointed I missed out on the green linen BAD.

BADs are very, very nice; I was only able to pick up one in green linen (from the secondary market). BADs are my favorite fixed-blade EDC (I'm thinking of this GW more in terms of a necker, although it may be a bit heavy for that). I haven't bought any Culties or HACKs because I don't see them as an upgrade to a BAD.
I just bought another one (a few minutes ago) on the Forums of Ramanon; it's an unused black/blue G10 BAD with Kydex (for $225). I've gotten some outstanding deals lately, but in the last few days I've added 4 Busses to my collection (a DC serrated green linen mini-SS, a NMSFNO with hand-shaped handles, this GW, and the BAD [which will be my 8th]). Those 4 were all unplanned targets-of-opportunity, but I need to cool back down so that I can pay for the S5s when they ship.
