I have always enjoyed North Pacific region, also "western" Virginia, Idaho....tell me what you would recommend. I want 4 seasons! La offers summer and a hotter summer. I have worn shorts for te last 4 years for Christmas!...I saw more snow in Texas than here. Last time there was snow in La, I was able to make a mudman!

A new avatar - what's this world coming to ? As far as where to live, that's something that requires a LOT of thought. What works for one may not be right for another. You mentioned a few nice areas, and in each one the people living there are there for a reason.
When we visited Alaska, many people thought we would not return, mainly because of our love of the country, fishing, and hunting opportunities, small population, etc. However, I did not want to tolerate their winters - when they get snow, they REALLY get snow! And I don't enjoy the VERY cold temperatures they get. A few years in Minnesota was enough for me! So, really put some thought into it.

GF - I know that a lot of Indiana is really nice, especially from mid-south on down to the southern border. Andy's area looks pretty sweet too! Tom

All I know of Andy's area is his pictures, and by the looks of those, he may as well be in the Amazon!

Well, his listing shows him in Madison County, which is west of Muncie, not far off of I-69. It should be pretty nice in that area, as shown by his pictures.

Well, I live in central Indiana. It’s really flat here because this is where the glaciers moved through. I think Southern Indiana is prettier because it’s more hilly. Unfortunately, there’s not much game here. Most of the woods were cleared for farm fields. Instead of having large forests, there’s little “patch woods” all over between the fields. They’re so small it’s impossible to get lost in them. Just pick a direction and start walking and you’ll be out in minutes. I have some friends in MI. It was a lot like here, but animals everywhere. Too cold for me though. I always thought if I hit the lotto, it would be nice to have a summer place in AK, and a winter place in HI.
