Is the Tek Lock stable on the kydex sheaths? It is odd to me that they are only fastened on one side.

I was afraid of the same thing, but it is very solid. Jeff uses very thick Kydex.

I dunno.

I'm sure you can.

the nylon drop/plate is removed by unscrewing the torx nuts on the front of the sheath. I'd imagine a Tek-Lok would fit, but I don't have one to try.

I just ordered a Spec-Ops Combat master sheath (big one) for my SOD and it failed to fit. ARGH!!! The blade is too wide to fit into the sheath. I know there are a few sheath makers out there and would like to see what you guys came up for your SOD sheath solutions. BTW, thanks again MustardMan for the Tan SOD!!! I will get out and thump on it as soon as I get a rig for it.
The 6" sheath at the company store fits the SOD nicely.

Does the 6" sheath have any sort of insert so that the knfe doesn't cut through the cordura?

It certainly does...

There's a plastic (kydex?) liner inside the cordura.
