I agree. I just can't help but wonder if there's a way to COMPLETELY automate the shipping notification process. I mean, wouldn't it be nice if Scrap Yard's shipping department could let us know when they ship a knife and skip Renee altogether?
Just a thought . . .
But what would Renee do???
We are automated however the system is not completely real time due to some batch processing. The process should actually work like this...Shipping completes paper work, paperwork sent to Renee for notification, Renee releases actual shipment after notification is given...customer notified and then receives shipment
I changed the process to operate like this. Inspect, validate order and payment, label box, pack and ship. If the paperwork notification aligns great but do not hold up an order for notification.
If you want to wait an extra day or so we could make sure that you are notified first and then have the shipment leave…silly but possible
BY the way the software and hardware upgrade to do it real time is sizable and it would directly effect the pricing of our knives. So the current system ain't so bad
