You are correct that the name will be sanded off, its the only way I could get him to put down the shotgun just before he passed out.

if he could manage a shotgun then it was still before midday <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

A 5" blade will be street legal here in Texas for open or concealed carry. That's a good thing <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

You mean that in Texas, where Jim Bowie died, you can't carry a Bowie knife?

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Oddly enough HD, Bowies are illegal to carry, concealed or in the open, here in Texas. Size doesn't matter. It's a very old law on the books that no politician has the cajones, or more importantly sees the political gain to justify revising the law.

Does a Concealed Weapons Permit bypass that? In Montana - a CWP is good for a gun or knife (of any size!), but I know that in some states they're only good for firearms. Thought I'd ask.

Thanks, Kraz. I really like the new SY knife. Good to know you can maybe carry it in TX. I like the penetrator point. Thinking about putting a point like that on DF. Since the new knife is designed for military use, I nominate the War Dog as its name (unless it already has a name).

Ooooh... you get a free one <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

GREAT name!

The only variation I would go with would maybe be the "Dog of War," but its just a ripoff of your idea, so I'd give you credit (unless Dan can break the knife in half, which I think would be impossible)!
