Usually WhichDawg starts a death chat.

We need to get Dan (WhichDawg) here, even if he didn't start this.

How many of you fine gentlemen carry a fixed blade every day as opposed to or in addition to a folder?

If you do, which one(s)?

Jbombelli does. I think I've seen him post on Arf.com about carrying a Busse Satin Jack as his EDC fixed blade IWB.

I typically carry a folder.

This one to be precise-

Every day for 10+ years now.

Best $35 I ever spent.

How about the new FN SCAR rifles? They're pretty cool but expensive.

would love to have a SCAR but have you seen the tag??? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

more like FN SLP or PS90.. i really, really want a FNAR but that's gonna be a while i think.

FNH stuff is really nice though and i'm keeping the FNP9 on my impulse buy list until i get one.

pitbull i like that S&W! i been looking at the G19 as well.....really i have no funds for guns....but when i do i want to be know what i want.

For a new gun owner, I recommend a quality revolver in .357.

You can fire .38 Special in it for cheap training fodder and so you're not developing a flinch from the blast & recoil of .357 full house loads.

The revolver is reliable, accurate, and simple to use....a true point & click interface.

The 28 pictured above is S&W's large frame. It's heavy, so it soaks up recoil. It is bulk though, and can be a bit much to carry.

Here's a mint Model 19 in .357.

It's a K frame, which is a medium frame. It is lighter and more comfortable to carry, but one should avoid a steady diet of .357 full power loads. Train with .38 and defend with .357 in a K frame.

They also made the 19 in a 2-3/4" barrel for CCW-

Of course if you want to go on the cheap, get either of these two-

The S&W Model 10, the most ubiquitous .38 police revolver in history-

Or the Ruger Service Six in .357

Both are frequently found for less than $300 at gunshops and pawn shops. Many are police trade ins that still have plenty of life left in them.

Revolvers are pretty good to train with for a first gun, but I'm still partial to anything Glock myself. Plus, Glocks are very simple to shoot, clean and you can get a Advantage Arms .22lr conversion kit to make it really fun and cheap to shoot. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I used to carry the Mikey-Likes-It Satin Jack (the fanciest Satin Jack Jerry ever made), every day.

my latest and loving it....

[Linked Image from img5.imageshack.us]

i'm thinking my next few firearms will be from fnh. the 2 i have i very happy with.

How about the new FN SCAR rifles? They're pretty cool but expensive.

I love FN products (hence my several FAL's and Hi-Powers), but the SCAR is hideously ugly.

I too think it's probably a fine performer, but the price???? It's operating system isn't anything different than my 80's production AR-180, so why the huge price tag???

Yeah, I think the MSRP is around $3000.00. Ouch!

You don't want an FNAR. They look neat, but check out the maintenance/breakdown procedures for them. They couldn't be more complicated to break down and clean if they tried. Go ahead...Google it. It's almost laughable to see it done in a video.

Do you carry the fixed in your bag or on your belt?

Belt or sometimes pocket...more knives in my MaxPed bag. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" /> (DM, Swamp Warden, SS Endura 4, CS XL Voyager, um...I think that's all)
