How about the new FN SCAR rifles? They're pretty cool but expensive.

would love to have a SCAR but have you seen the tag???

more like FN SLP or PS90.. i really, really want a FNAR but that's gonna be a while i think.

FNH stuff is really nice though and i'm keeping the FNP9 on my impulse buy list until i get one.

You don't want an FNAR. They look neat, but check out the maintenance/breakdown procedures for them. They couldn't be more complicated to break down and clean if they tried. Go ahead...Google it. It's almost laughable to see it done in a video.

thanks for the link... i've seen a lot of info... just can't get it out of my head and wonder if it's more hype than user experience. thing is that it's $1700 and everything says you won't be able to find mags so i'll pace myself on this purchase and hold off until i get the full picture.

I've got a friend who has one. He's a "buy the next new thing" kind of person. He seems to like it, but when I mentioned the breakdown & cleaning proceedures, he just chuckled and said "Yeah, um, it's not as easy as a FAL is it?"

The Scar is okay looking, but I haven't handled one yet. I agree on the price though. Ouch! I like some of the piston driven uppers that have come out lately. Especially, the HK version. Very cool!

I shot a 416 and a LW piston upper 2 weekends ago (full auto natch ) and they were both very nice.

Honestly, I haven't had any reliability issues with my DI AR's, so I'm almost loathe to change at the price difference between piston & DI uppers.
