I took my .223 to the range today to zero in the scope. Only used the 50m range, but was still quite enjoyable!

waht .223 are you shooting?

Picked up a 700 SPS Varmint earlier in the year. Ended up in my safe for a bit while I was busy. Had it out once and then put it away until today.

700!!!! the VTR is on my list but lately i've been looking at FNH stuff. the 700 are way easier to come by. the SPS looks really nice... I'm thinking .308...

Overall I am happy with it.

price is probably going to be a factor which is why i'm really thinking about the 700's. ive just been so impress by my fnh stuff.

i'm watching the scrapper 6 on knifetests again. gotta love that one....

The S6LE is a sweet knife indeed! Getting hard to find though and the price has been going up.

Still see S6CGs for reasonable prices at Blade Forums on occasion.

Nice thing about the 700 is that there is a decent selection of after market parts like triggers and most decent gunsmiths are quite familiar with it.

after market is why i went with the 10/22 and mossy 500. i'm really thinking i should do the .308 in a 700 and take the extra cash and put it toward something like a good scope.

I have two of them. One on the .223 and one on my Model 70 in .308. Really nice options at a sweet price.

There is a pressure point on the factory stock on my .223. I am going to sand it off and see if it helps the groups. After that, I may bed the action and the first inch or so of the barrel with an acra gel kit I have stashed away somewhere. still don't know... i've been really impressed with fnh so it's gonna be a tough choice.

luckily it'll be a while before i commit to anything i guess. i have the waki to think about and all of the accessories. i still have a few months before i go with anything.

are you going to be hunting?

Nothing too crazy. Want to get it dialed in for some gopher outings next year.
