I got the LD01 for my parents too. SS for my Dad, and aluminum for my Mom (who wanted lighter weight). It helps to attach a tritium keychain to it, then you can easily find it in the dark. True I have had trouble finding my flashlight in the middle of the night while camping sometimes.

A good flashlight is a necessity.

Don't skimp, but you needn't buy the $300 Surefire either.

I'm telling you, Fenix is a great product.

I usually use a Black Diamond headlamp - I like the hands free nature of it.

I might still get one of these little guys to replace the various maglites I tend to throw in a pack as backups.
