Its an iron fence with shrubs behind it. No primeing, just slapping a coat on it to cover the fading. I've only partially finished the gate and it looks much better.

Later I am going to sand down the front door and repaint it too. Actually, I will sand and prep it and my bro-in-law will shoot a few coats on it for a smoother finish.

Ever thought about using a power washer? Crank the pressure up to maximum and get in close. Anything that CAN come off, WILL come off. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Faster than mucking around with sand unless you have an actual sand blaster.

LOL, I'm rarely up past 11 anymore. I must be getting old,... or I go to work at 5am. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Those power blasters work great. They also will blast skin right off the top of a bare foot.
