Cool, I'm an audiophile myself...but i haven't been into it much lately...It is another expensive hobby. I just bought a pair of Sennheiser PX100 headphones for my IPod and they are great. What kind of headphones do you have coming?

Do they use chemicals to strip the knives or just grinding/sanding?

Snap jacks are perfect for your phones. They get tugged on and they just snap in half magnetically with no damage to your unit.
Heh, heh, unit.

What kind of headphones do you have coming? audio technica ATH-ES7. i don't really consider myself an audiophile. none of my headphones are in that $300 range. I would like to upgrade from my grado sr60 to something like the sr225 or sr325. maybe somethin else entirely different. the HD485's haven't been gettin much love lately, despite enjoying their sound. I have the px100. a great pair but i think i generally prefer the character of the koss porta pro for my music.

i'm about the same recon... i can do some light solder work but we have some great techs where i work and i let them handle anything past a drop or 2 of solder.
i'm very skilled at checking fuses though... and that's where i would start mag. past any connections being loose i'd get with a tech.
