i won't get into my equipment list but i'll say that i'm pretty good on the equipment side of things. i keep the idea of running a project studio as a option.

IIRC, Erik said the first group of Waki's should be shipping around the 20th of July. Is anyone else anxious to see their new blade? I know I am. What are you guys thinking as a sheath material--kydex or leather? On one hand I think the kydex will be better for use in the enviornment, but leather feels so much better and looks so much classier.
What kind of carry setup are you thinking? I like the idea of carrying across the back but I generally have a camelback or pack so that might not work that great. I also thought about a carry style of where it rides on the left side at an angle like the old warriors used ot carry, but that is not real practical going through the woods. I even though about a multi style that can be used eithr way or even attached to a pack kinda like the military used to do with the 1903, P17, and Garand bayonets. I guess I really need to wait and get the blade in first to make a decision.

Heck yeah, I got myself a user Howling Rat for 100 bucks. CongRats. That's a rarer gen 1 with the smaller choil. Notice the size compared to my gen 2 HR: The choil on the one I got doesn't look like either of those lol... Here is a pic.. Any thoughts? Just heavily used? ![[Linked Image from ericbushmeier.com]](http://www.ericbushmeier.com/knife/swamprat/3.jpg)

I did get some tobacco seeds today from a friend that has grown some. I though it might be fun to try. I hope it is not too late to try them. I might do half of them and see what happens. In Oklahoma, a person can have up to 5 acres of tobacco plants for private use. I assume that is an Oklahoma law, federal maybe--can't remember which it is. I know they make beautiful flowers but the flowers aren't good for anything except taking nutrients from the leaves. I can't grow anything else so we shall see.

i got one for my m9le. can't say it would be good for smaller blades. i would just stick with a regular sheath for the s5. i have to wonder how it would even do for something as large as the waki. but for 7" plus blades it's what i'm going to order for my knives. it just works really good and he makes them really solid.

Do they use chemicals to strip the knives or just grinding/sanding? Gel Epoxy stripper works well. You can use liquid, but gel is easier to work with.

Here is a pic.. Any thoughts? Just heavily used? No, yours is the gen 1. Mine is a gen 2. The knife under mine is an HRLM. I was doing a set of comparison pics when I got the HRLM.

I was thinking about a kydex for the M9LE and HCLE but ended up going with a Chuddy Bear leather piggy backed/dangler combo. I have not carried it yet, but the sheath combo is awsome. Talk about a lot of steel and weight, I might have to find me an old western style belt to carry the combo on LOL.

I thought the knife underneath was supposed to be the Gen 1.. Well, sweet! I am excited to get an oldie for cheap. He has had it at least since like 2003.
