As much as I want that set...
I think I'll show a little restraint at this time.
Hopefully make it through my bills next week and still be on track. I payed it a little closer than I like to with these last few purcahses. A reminder to self that just because you can doesn't mean that you should.

I think my only regret would be getting rid of one of the wakis, but I could use some extra cash i'm in the same boat. between the wakis, all the audio stuff i just bought, and repairs i'm doing on my guitar amp and car, the belt is mighty tight. i could afford it without touching savings, but checking would be nearly gone and i like to keep at least a grand there.

So many releases, so little moola. I look at it like this, I'm glad I'm not wasting the money on some of the stupid stuff I used to get. Some of those things MM mentioned included. This is probably the healthiest addiction I've had and I don't see myself going to rehab anytime soon. Plus, I think this is one of the few where you can actually make money while getting your fix. It blows my mind.

![[Linked Image from eden.rutgers.edu]](http://eden.rutgers.edu/~mghattas/MISTRESSES/Rats/IMG_1303.JPG) that's the thing about a collection. it's so much better together than apart. sigh.

I just completed a trade for what I expect to be my last NMSFNO (Eight is enough). I traded a HCLE #33 to David Brown (+ cash) for an arctic white with hand-shaped G10 handles. I feel strange about the NMSFNOs -- I had disdained them as inferior to FSH while they were in "normal release". It was only after the remainders went to the Company Store that I decided to get any, then I was attracted by the tanker grays -- I ended up buying four of those (two orders of two each).
Then, I saw one in bama clay with hand-shaped tan micarta at Knob Creek -- I thought the hand-shaped handles were an overpriced option, since it made that knife slightly more expensive than a FSH with hand-shaped G10 I also bought, but I had a thing for bama clay so I bought it. Next, I got a green with black hand-shaped micarta on BladeForums; it's a great knife and I got it for less than retail, and who doesn't love a deal? Then, I'm surfing eBay and come across an arctic white with black hand-shaped G10 -- that's my FSH combo, and I picked it up for nearly the same price I paid for the bama clay, but G10 was another ($60?) upgrade on top of the $60 hand-shaped upgrade, so I couldn't pass it up. Finally, I saw David's in the same configuration on BladeForums. With the HCLE considered at retail, the deal wasn't quite as sweet, but I think it was fair for both of us. HC handles don't feel great to me, so in effect I was trading something that I was less than thrilled with for something I knew I'd like a lot better; David's collecting #33 LEs, so I imagine he's happy with the deal too.
Where I'm going with this is that I went from thinking that NMSFNOs basically weren't worth owning, to buying 8 for just over $2900 (including shipping) in 5 months, leaving me feeling just a bit conflicted. It didn't seem like quite so much at the time, but they do add up.
