i was shocked at how sharp the hack was...... i think hd has a really good rep for his edges thats how he gets by..... i have also seen the "sharped by" in a few on bf. i dont know i buy mine to use theres some collectors thing in there too i guess but still .... if i had the coin i would probably pick up that knife EL put up...
i like scrap yards cause they work... busses are pritty but there are definatly more of a collector style blade in many aspects... the SRs seam to be kinda a mix between the two good value user with a little extra style thrown in .... but if you look i definatly have more scrap yard stuff around the house.... i think thats why i hang out here more then any other bussekin forum

Sharp knives are for sissies. Give me the biggest tree in the forest and I'll cut it down with my multitool using only the flat-head screwdriver blade. Hell, I've only been cutting stuff with the spine on my Scrapper 5.
Man up people. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Estimates based on personal experience. Your milage may vary. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
You use it you take a 10% hit.
You use it hard you take a 20% hit.
You sharpen it you take a 10% hit.
You reprofile it you take a 15% hit.
You strip it you take a 25% hit.
You do minor mods to the butt, top, etc. and you take a 30% hit.
You have sheath rubs or scratches you take a 10% hit.
You have someone professional like Horton or Ban do a mod, you won't get your money back but don't really take a hit.
You have the Busse Custom Shop redo it and you don't take a hit.

I'm doing good tonight. Basking in the glow of my new DDF. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I need to call Renee and arrange payment for my S5LEs.
Here's hoping that I got #77. I'll have a dilemma if I scored something cool and low like #5 too as I won't know which one to make a user.

What I laugh about is the fact that the Hogs don't even want a sharp edge. People have to point out in their for-sale threads that, not only is a knife UNUSED, it is UNSHARPENED as well.
From a collector's point of view, a virgin blade, untouched by a non experienced sharpener is more valuable than one that has been further dulled by a hack... not to say all people that sharpen a blade are hacks.... but the buyer does not necessarily know the seller... a virgin blade insures no unnecessary grinding... I myself, would not like to buy a quality knife someone else had tried to sharpen...I can do it myself...although I would not hesitate to buy one from one of the dawgs here... I can always fix the convex thing... heheheheh Doc

Lol, well I don't have to worry about using number 1.. Tom, is going to make that decision.
It's cool to see him end up with the Number 1 INFI S5.
PLus now I can thrash on whatever number I end up with, without guilt...lol
Enjoy every sandwich.
