I have a question for you fellow dogs:

What do you recommend putting on knives that are kept in the safe and see no use? I just want to keep the blade from developing any blemishes.

I have heard many different things but wanted to get some more opinions before I go through and clean/treat all of my knives.

Thanks ahead of time!

I just found some of that online and was wondering if it was as good as it sounded. A little pricey but I guess if it does the job it is worth it.

I use the r wax too- but have found that nu finish or just about any wax does a good job. I also have some stuff called Walkers wax - but I truly think the Nu Finish does just as good. Someone also mentioned they liked a polish called " Flitz" ? Luck- what up MC

Flitz is a polish, not really a protectorant.

I have a jar of RenWax, but to tell you the truth, have not used it. I typically wipe down my knives with a Marine Tuff Cloth twice a year (only on the blades) but for true safe queens I have heard that RenWax is the way to go.

Ren Wax really is great stuff! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> I use it on my blades, many of which are stored in my basement. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Just to clarify.......on my Scrap Yards for example.....I don't need to put wax on the coated parts of the blade, only the edge/exposed metal, right?

So far, it's pretty much unanimous Ren. Wax....anybody recommend anything else?

I don't have anything that is collectable any longer. I do have one piece of LE INFI but I intend on using it. So I am no help...lol, what else is new.
