Good job there HD. I am glad she is not discouraged and she will do a great job. I want to thank you for instilling the spirit and pride in Bonnie. I want to thank Bonnie for her determination to protect our great country--I work with high school kids everyday and there are far less that feel the compassion for our country.

Persistence and patience are important qualities and she seems to have both. I am sure she will be successful in whatever she chooses to do - she has the qualities it takes to succeed and a great Father to help along the way. HD congrats to you and your daughter.
Sometimes i wish i would have been more persistant with the Air Force's recruiter. 20+ unanswered phone calls motivated me to join the Army, who interestingly enough were more than willing to reply. It didnt turn out badly and now im looking forward to college in a few months on the GI bill's dime. Bonnie was ready to go Army for just that reason. She could not get the Air Force to return her calls. This was after she and I had gotten all her records together and filled out all the forms. I finally intervened, as fathers will do, and I got the AF recruiter up in Savannah to come down and talk to Bonnie. The local one was never available. In the local mall, only the Army is always open. They make it hard to join the AF for some reason. I was about ready to tell her to go Army instead with the slack way the local AF recruiter was running things. But the SSGT from Savannah treated us with some seriousness. Now he's glad he did, with that 85 AFQT score she got. It's amazing how much pull an old ex-AF SSgt and Army LT has. Maybe he thought I was a Colonel. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I was an army recruiter for 3 years and the air force recruiter was hardly ever there, if he was he was in civilian clothes and would go home at 3 pm. I seen him tell kids to come back and talk to him the next week. The air force can be picky like that cause the were downsizing big time back then. I remember one time he didn't have to put anybody in for 2 months because the air force didn't need new personnel at the time. We would work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week and he would work maybe 12 hours a week.

I am ready for some college football but looking forward to high school football more than anything. I can't wait for college ball...my team isn't that great , but i still love watching them...i like the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

That's cool BC - I work with a Nebraska Alum and we talk football all the time. Neb has had some trouble the last couple years but they will get back to the Cornhuskers of the past eventually. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I'm an FSU and USF fan myself. Also like other teams but these are my favs.
