I have been climbing for a couple of years - I started out mostly sport lead climbing, but lately I've been fixated on bouldering, because I can focus on the moves and not worry so much about gear. I was at Horse Pens 40 in Alabama to do some bouldering, but the weather didn't cooperate, so I didn't touch stone once this weekend. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

oh hey mustard good to hear from someone the forum lives! 1000 POSTS HOLLY CRAP!!! and the climbing sounds like fun. I started climbing with repelling actually. I used to be on a paint crew that did a couple of large buildings. One of witch the only way to get to some spots reguired bolting in and repelling off the building. at first i was scared as hell,but then i loved it. The job was the VA hospital in reno nevada. after a couple of weeks our instructor/rigging guy invited us to go along with him to do some climbing up around lake tahoe at a place called lovers leap. From then i came back too utah with the crew and we climbed pretty regularly until they all got married or moved away. I miss it

Hey guys. Yeah, the forum seems very slow lately...Not sure why. Ha lowder's talking to himself, I had the same idea. Its rough going when you're 6-9 hours off from the states AND work a weird shift.
