I'd do it in a heartbeat. Then again, I travel fairly regularly for work, so I'm used to it. The flip side is, I usually fly.

The best part of working in academia is traveling for conferences and collaborations. If I get a chance to go to california for work, I'll do it in a heartbeat.

oh agreed .... i like to travel , but i have a lotta stuff to worry about at home with the shop and tools.... i guess i worry to much ... i travel monthly close to home but its short like a week end ... this is a while.... but if i wanna keep up my career i gotta do it.... also this is in NOV. so i gotta jet home before the snow starts or ill be stuck....

if i do it i might order my hammock soon with winter supplys ... so i can travel a little while im out there to some nice places...

my work is very peice mill. i used to have regular accounts at a few shops that would keep the power on and needed min. amount of work outta my day to keep up. but with the down turn in the economy glass art is more of a luxury .... so those are drying up.

im really thinking of doing it... im just unsure... ill also have to give up knives next month for the most part... just to make sure i have the capital to live for a month till the pay check....

Its only for a month. I'd say it more of an extended vacation. The hardest part is already taken care of: a place to stay. I would probably regret it a lot longer than 6 months if I passed this opportunity up. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
