lazi, my friend's lookin for a microphone. he says he wants to save a grand and spend it on one mic, but i figured i'd consult with you before i told him that was a bad idea.
what was that mic you recommended? i think it was around $100...

Mag, I've had really good luck with the Joe Meek JM37DP and also the Studio Projects B1 in the $100 range. I never really recommend spending a grand unless you have enough knowledge to have a preference or you just have he money to toss. A good preampl can do a lot for any mic. But the B1 and JM37 cross a few genres and still get postiive reviews. I was even surprised by a few recordings with those mics.
