I bought one of these a good while back and have been wanting to upgrade.

My XD .45

Yup... EAA Windicator. Bought it when the firing in m S&W Sigma broke. Figured a revolver would be more dependable. Eveything but barrel finish and cheap rubber grip has held up far.

Next time I see a XD I'm going to hold it. The looks don appeal to me but certain aspects seem to be growing on me. I kind want to check out the compact after looking at a few pics.

xd's are sweet. i want the 3" 9mm.

You definitely feel the heavy rounds out of this thing, I carry one in polar / grizzly bear country loaded with 360 grain Buffalo Boar.

Actually fun to shoot 45 long colt with the gel pack in the grip.

And nice to always have it on your belt, as apposed to the shotgun leaning against the tree over there.

This is closer than we usually try to get, narrow beach with a bluff / cliffs so we had nowhere else to go. Was in Wainwright Ak.

Makes sense Ups. Wouldn't want to be making a mad dash with a bear breathing on your neck.

Since I don't think I'll have any polar bears crawling through my window at night or sticking me up at the ATM machine I think this is the one firearm I know I will purchase at some point.

Bought the FNP45 a while back and with all the knives and other gear I haven't had much room. Since it's a pretty guaranteed snag for me I want to snatch up a few that I may be on the fence about first. Stuff like a compact, carbine, decent rifle, 22 pistol, yadda... I may grab 2 of those and then go for the FNP.
