Dont forget 1911s and HK, and Sig either.

IF I had to have a 15 rnd 45, I might look at the double stack Para Ordnance 1911s

We just got some new Mythbusters material here. Those guys are pretty funny. I have some friends who have accused them of being poor scientists, which they often are. However, the show isn't called "Sciencebusters". They do have a fairly simple and common-sense approach to a lot of questions (many of which are completely stupid, you have to admit). What they are very VERY good at doing, is making people think. Even if you think they're wrong, you have to invest some thought to define why and how you would do it better. I imagine there are few television shows that actually stimulate viewers analysis skills.

Pretty much agree exactly.

There are a lot of holes in what they do...but it is entertaining.

now we are getting closer. i was thinking the same thing about the shotgun.

a friend and myself are finally going to get our FID's and handgun permits. it's such a pain in nj i'm considering having a lawyer do it.

i'm not too interested in defense or combat handguns, though the cz-p01 and xd subcompact are awesome. pretty sure i'm getting a revolver (.45lc or .357) and a .22 first.

For home defense, a 12 gauge is pretty excellent...just dont believe that crap about how racking it alone will send bad guys running.

CZ and XD are both great guns.

Hard to beat a good wheelgun too. 357 and 45Colt are good calibers too.

Anybody a pocket knife historian? I got my hands on an old folder that I'm thinking about cleaning up. It is a pocket folder, with two blades. One is a thin, wide spear-point type blade, very similar to your standard issue SAK. The other blade has a flat, blunt end meant to be used as a screwdriver, and the sharpened edge is straight and does not go all the way to the point. The second blade locks, the first does not. On the base of the knife blade is stamped "Camillus", which I've heard of. The scales are black plastic. The blade metal appears to be stainless (not rusted to any great degree), and the chassis is brass. There is a large integral pivoting lanyard loop.

The only 1911 that I have is a Springfield GI, and it WILL NOT feed HP ammo. At all. Not even if you tap the back of the slide.

Shouldnt matter to you if you can only use ball ammo though.

i'm pretty set on a blackhawk in 45lc, but the 357 gp100 seems like a great all purpose handgun. they have the hogues standard now, too.

that was a reason it was one of my top picks. it's like you're readin my mind the past few posts.

now you have to just fill in the blank spots.

Sounds interesting.

Might have to take a photo over to BF...lots of people into old knives there.

Might find out here though...just not from me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

oh, and we're allowed to own and target shoot with hollow points, but we can't use them defensively.

kinda pointless buyin em, then.

is .357 ball ammo gonna serve me any advantage (outside of price, recoil, and .38 compatibility) over the .45lc?
