How is it for low light pictures and action shots.
The sony is not great at action shots

It has a normal maximum ISO of 1600, and a custom mode ISO option of 3200. It has a maximum shutter speed of 1/8,000th of a second. I can get over 11 stops of dynamic range out of it.
It has a fairly fast, responsive autofocus.
I'm not sure what it means for a camera to not be good at action shots. Most any camera is fine for action shots.

Not sure if this makes sense but the pictures don't seem to be as crisp as action photos she does with other cameras.
She occasionally uses a friends pentax dslr and the pictures seem better.
I do believe they are the same megapixel.
The other thing she doesn't like about the sony is that it doesn't have "live view" so she has to look through the eyepiece like a traditional slr when taking pictures.
I don't know a lot about digital cameras,so I didn't know the right questions to ask when I bought it.
I think the sony was a good starter camera but I think she has outgrown it
