Any opinions about the best gun for home defense. Budget cuts have reduced the police force in my town... I've always liked the 12 guage myself

Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 seem to top the home defense list from what I have seen.

50 rounds of 45LC for $44. 335 gr, 1300fps, 1265ft/lbs. way better deal than the equivalent from buffalo bore and cor bon.
i want it for the really big zombies and any alaskan brown bear that may wander to new jersey. they were kicked out of alaska because they're nazi bears. that's why they come no communist friendly NJ.

I was thinking that too...we have had problems with prowlers before. Mostly teenage kids casing the area.

Budget cuts have reduced the police force in my town... i wish i was that lucky. we have plenty of cops, but they're worthless. i'm two blocks from the station, and could be there on foot in less than three minutes. when we call them for help it takes them forty minutes to respond. i'd opt for looser gun laws, less cops, and the money spent on them sent to education. NJ loves cutting corners there.

Remington 870 Express Magnum (pump) for sure. The sound when it racks is usually all you need! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
I also sleep near my H&K USP-9 (full size) with Speer Gold Dots.
12 gauge is always a good first buy, though.

i'm not giving them the credit they deserve for the raid on the house across the street, which was full of drug dealers a few years ago. now it's just home to some harmless thugs with loud music.

Our law enforcement agency is the Sheriff and his deputy - 22 miles away. Even the Sheriff himself said that folks should be prepared to care for themselves, as there just is too many square miles for two people to cover effectively!
