Thats alot of dough but if they rock maybe they are for you. Check out some of the Klipsch higher end stuff though, it can be found for alot less for whatever reason. BUT, I am no sound expert so my two cents needs to be discounted. I'm slowly trying to making my PC my primary music source. Do the Klipsch's still use horn tweeters? Yep.

I still have a pair of old Sennheiser HD 414's with the yellow foam ear pads. They still sound great. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Right now they are about 1950.00. The weak dollar is not helping since they are made in the UK.
Sounds like a lot but that includes a built in DAC and preamp. i think that's overkill for a digital source.

when i plug my macbook into speakers, it's my stereo. out through the USB to 160 watt panasonic.
