I use my company laptop when I'm on the road. It has a Verizon card which keeps me connected.

My daughter fits her aspire in her purse and I think you can get a 6 hour battery for it. My eeepc is solid state and is easy to carry

well my last one was an iBook which lasted me six or seven years, which is far more than any other laptop would have delivered.
this macbook hasn't left me wanting anything but something smaller and cheaper for flying (hence the netbook).

Solid state is good. Less moving parts to fail. Also less heat generated.

My car is my office. So I bought an inverter so I can plug my laptop into my car power. Works pretty good and keeps me connected.

I might look at a netbook for my wife. Her current laptop is too heavy for her.
