I just actually sat down and figured out all the fees, shipping, cost of the sheath, and tax paid, and realized that, selling the zilla plus sheath at $850 with paypal, I'm actually taking a slight loss. That made me depressed.

absolutely not. But still bummed about losing money because I bought an $800 knife that wasn't sharp enough to use.

and even more so that I had to hang onto it for six months because of the goofy test team rules
I won't be jumping through those hoops again on such an expensive blade unless I get a HUGE raise at work.

Yeah my complaining about it ain't helping selling any I'm sure. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />
For what it's worth, I think most Battle Mistresses are too blunt to use too. Big wasteful thick useless barely-sharpened prybars <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Maybe roll on over to the Bark River forum?
You may be in the wrong place, MM...

Eh, barkies don't really do anything for me.
I love the design of Jerry's knives, and INFI is awesome stuff. The Bushwacker is one of my most anticipated knives EVER.
And Scrap Yard and Swamp Rat blades are often a no-brainer - amazing warranties, great designs, and sweet steel, for outstanding prices.
What I really love from Busse is thINFI, and it DOES exist... it's just hard to find sometimes.
I don't mind having to sharpen a knife when I get it. I would prefer them to be sharp from the factory, but all the practice just improves my sharpening skills. Getting the zilla sharp enough to be able to chop as well as other knives I own was certainly a test of my skills, especially because I didn't want to totally reprofile it like HD did. I'm happy with the edge I got on it, and if it were a $400-500 knife, I would hang onto it, but at twice that it's just not worth it for a niche blade. I could buy two Bushwackers and still have money left over for a date night, for what I paid for the zilla.

I was just ribbing you a bit.
You know better than I about the rather obtuse edge that comes on a lot of the Bussekin blades.
I havent got a lot of experience with Busses, but most of my SR and SY blades have come with sharp, albeit a bit obtuse, edges.
