I only make 1-2 every few months. What I really need to get is a real grinder, my little 1x42 is very limited.

Thanks! I always learn more every time I grind. It's becoming much more a feel and hear thing then a seeing thing, since you can't really see what's going on between the belt and blade.

I hear you about the sound and feel. That's how I sharpen my knives. Oh here is my Fav blade shape/size now.

But the steel is kinda on the soft side. Which is Ok, but I DO wish it was a little harder. Oh, it's a bucklite max small, 3 1/4 blade. I have the diamondback guide w/3 inch blade which I really like, but for my hand this one would be a lot better. I am just hesitant to buy another soft steel blade.

Holy Ho Ho Ho! Just looked outside, IT HAS GOT COLD and IT'S SNOWING LIKE CRAZY!!! I think our only saving grace is gonna be that the ground has been ABOVE freezing for the longest time.
