If you are thinking a Saiga, look at the .308 since they are a 10 rd mag too. The .308 offers the most power in a compact package. The ammo cost more but it can take the majority of game in NA, and can be easily reloaded.

i may call them about a .223 saiga.

.308 was my first choice, but after thinking about it a while i don't hunt so i'd rather the cheaper stuff for targets.

Sound reasoning. The .223 is still more expensive than the 7.62x39mm. Not a lot if you are shooting the Wolf ammo, but some.

I know yu mentioned the M1 Garand in the past, seen a lot of them on Band of Brothers tonight. Makes me want a WWII correct rifle. Milled trigger group, lockbar sights, smaller profile stock, leather sling with correct O holes and tarnished brass hooks, M10 cleaning kit, 1907 Bayonet with 10" blade, a 55 gal drum of en-blocks and a convex container of ammo----------------I can dream.
