I use mostly 180 grain in both of my 308's, my old winchester model 88 gets it's best groupings with 180 silvertips followed very closely by 180 Federal classics (funny this is the cheapest ammo in my neck of the woods) it hates any 150 grain I've tried. Since I use it on moose and deer I've stayed with what works.
When I bought my rem 600 mohawk 3 years ago it shoot both of these 180 grains well so I did not do any further testing with it

No reason to fix something that works. The most dangerous game I am around is bobcat, pig, wild dogs, etc. There are some black bears and mt lions but I have never seen one in the wild.

I think I told this story before but I thought this was so cool.
This September I am hunting up in northern BC for moose, this is grizzly country and I've seen grizzly in this area before and my one brother was bluff charged by a grizzly last year.
I am walking down this cut line and it comes to an intersection with another cutline. I look to my left and a lynx is sitting about 20 feet up the trail. He's looking at me and I am looking at him, I throw my binoculars up to see if it is a lynx or a bobcat and I can tell it is a lynx by it's ear tuffs.
We stare at each other for over a minute then all of a sundden he spins so he is fully facing me and he looks like he is ready to charge. I throw up my rifle and think one move [censored] and you're dead. I didn't want to shoot him for no reason so I yelled at him "HEY". He just looked at me with the cat version of "the finger" I then made myself look big and slowly backed away up the cut line. When I got about 75 feet up the trail the lynx runs around the corner and stands in the center of the tral. He then proceeds to follow me step for step up the trail for about 200 yards when I crest a hill and lose sight of him. I never did see him again.
I know he was just showing me who was boss, but that made my trip
