Man, you know you don't have to be the fastest runner but you have to be faster than the guy next to you. Does that apply to swimming too?

Oh, and just a day or two earlier we were diving this sunking ship again in 100 ft water and as I was swimming up the side from the bottom as I came up over the side to the deck this Eel stuck his WIDE OPEN MOUTH right in my face. Now he was only about a foot and a half away from my face and his mouth looked like it was about 4 foot across and filled with about a thousand teeth each about 6 inches long! I won't say I was scared, but my bud heard me holler and he was about 20 feet from me! (And below i might add, the lucky bugger)!

I am feeling a little bad. I have not done anything with my patch Dan gave us. I need to get some velcro and attach it to the backside so I can put it on a hat or bag. Problem is the hat is dirty and worn out, the shooting bags are dirty too. Maybe I need to run by the sports store this week and see if I can find a new hat.

Once when My Bud and I were night diving off the power plant in Hawaii (know the place MJrob?) We kept seeing the silver flashes JUST at the limits of our lights and they kept circling us. After about 10 minutes, one got closer and they were Barracuda!!! nanakuli?

Spend enough time in the wild and you get a real apprieciatiton for how we really fit into the wild I have always loved the outdoors and this year's health problems I have had took a real toll on me. I am getting better, and I need to start working out again so I can enjoy the outdoors after wrestling season is over. I roll around on the mat but it kills me at the end of practice but soreness is going away a little quicker each day. Yesterday, when I was shoveling snow, with a spade shovel btw, I figured I would be really out of it but it was not too bad. I guess I am getting there slowly. I did enjoy that shoveling even if it was below 32 degrees and a wind blow of 30 mph.

Sumo, you're right. We have NO claws, small teeth, a not very powerful bite, No fur to help protect us from teeth and claws or to keep us warm. Can't run very fast compared to other critters and If we couldn't make tools, we would not have lasted this long.

I have always wanted to visit Canada to fish, hunt, sight see, and gold prospect. Now the winters, after our little blizzard here I think I could live without LOL.
One thing I don't ever plan on hunting is a bear. To me, the bear is the most majestic animal, to the point that I have a bear tat on my arm, a lot smaller now than it used to be--the arm LOL, and my bro has a bear head dressed Indian tat on his arm. We were told by an Indian medicine man our spirits are like a bear. It is true, the older I get the more cranky I get LOL. Some people really like bear meat, I don't. I've had a black bear tag for years, don't ever plan on shooting one, just figured if I had to off a nuicence bear while hunting or camping (if the bear is in season) then I wouldn't have to go through the hassle of reporting in. I've got friends that would eat the meat. I have seen dozens if not well over a hundred black bears in the wild, but they look like nothing when compared to a grizzly. I have no desire to hunt a grizzly and would only shoot one if I had to. One day I plan to go to Churchill Manitoba in the fall when the polar bears are migrating through.

Then again, I have only waded in the ocean in fear of Jaws getting me
