So the new Apple tablet is completely underwhelming. I'm usually a huge Apple fanboy, but that thing sucks. iPod touch on growth hormones. Whoopdie do.

The lack of multithreading and flash support kills me. Other than that it does seem fairly interesting. In the long run it will depend on the software developers to make or break it.

Multithreading and flash support can always be fixed in updated software releases, just like they added apps, push notifications, exchange support, and copy and paste to the iphone...

The crappy hardware is unfixable. No HDMI/DVI out? No front-facing camera? No USB port? 4:3 screen ratio?

I can live with the limited capability of my iPhone. I would love the to just make it where I could use it with a bigger screen but they can keep the iPad.

Apple normally nail the UI and industrial design on a concept that hasn't worked that well for others. That is what they did with the iPod and iPhone and absolutely cleaned up in both cases.

The market is slowly forming for devices that sit somewhere between larger screened phones or smaller format notebooks so they are getting in a little earlier. The only area that has proven out is ereaders but it isn't broken because Kindle has been a positive move for Amazon.

I wonder if they have jumped in too early on this one.

I guess from my position I am not worried about the USB port.

My hope was a simple device to hop online with when I travel. With a bit of luck they will deal with the software problems in short order. Give it a couple of updates and the initial big price drop and I will probably pick one up to play with.

i wanted something like the ipad sence i was 10 and saw it in a scifi movie....my ipod touch was so amazing ... a bigger version to read books on is what i was looking on , and the 500 buck price point was suprizing .... but yea theres still issues , and frankly its like the iphone wait 6 months they will offer a new one with most of the points people complain about fixed in some way....

that said ... i just say some of the new netbook series leaking out soon and im waiting for that.....
