So far I have only sold extra knives that I bought. I have been struggling with the idea of selling my DDF. I snagged it in the ganza and still haven't used it. I really wish I had gotten 2 of them now.

I wouldn't go for it.
Apple has some good prices on refurbs right now. They come with a full one year warranty. Like this one... the processor is slightly slower, but you won't notice the difference. He's offering you about a $100-200 off what you'd pay for a refurb, for something where the warranty will expire in three months.
Windows 7 + parallels are certainly expensive as well, but they could be pirated, or he could have made copies of the install disc's to save them for himself, so he's potentially losing nothing by including them.
Refurbished iMac 24-inch 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
24-inch glossy widescreen display 4GB memory 640GB hard drive 8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 with 256MB memory Built-in iSight camera
$1,279.00

I sold it pretty soon after buying it and using it a bit. Not a fan of the saber grind, and it wasn't terribly sharp. I have big INFI choppers that outperform the DDF, so pretty much the only thing it has going for it was the res-c handle. I'm generally not in love with fat choppers, when a well sharpened and properly wielded thinner knife can generally come very close to matching the performance of a big fat monstrosity on many materials, and even beat the fattie in some materials.

$1,279.00 Well, That's 300 bucks I don't have. Thanks for your view, though. The iMac I am on right now is from the same guy, it's like 5 years old and works like a charm. Do people really have problems with iMacs for me to worry about the 1 yr factory warranty? I sold this dude 8 copies of Windows 7 pro at my work, and see him all the time. I just think 1000 bucks is worth it for everything to be installed and ready to go.
Enjoy every sandwich.

It's a computer mass produced in Taiwan - they use better components than, say, Dell, but stuff still can go wrong.
I'm probably biased because my fiance has had two iMacs have problems on her - one was a power supply that went bad, and the other was the logic board. Both were covered under warranty. I've had two different batteries replaced on Apple laptops, again under warranty.
We also tend to buy new Apple computers basically every year or two, so we've been through a LOT of them, which might explain what seems like a lot of hardware issues.
I know lots of other people who have had Apple computers that never caused them any problems, but I've used the warranty so I tend to value it more than someone who's never had a problem.

The iMac with the specs I listed is probably equal to a pc with double that power. Plus the Mac will run windows, while still allowing me to go back to OSX whenever. Another thing is the Mac's display. It is unreal.
Enjoy every sandwich.

MM, I understand what you mean.
So, if you don't mind, what is parallels? What is better about it than, say, bootcamp?

Hey MM- buy yourself a couple cheapie Tramontina machetes and convex them <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. Tweak out the grip a bit to fit your hands and it will out chop just about anything out there <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />. Kinda like Mora knives. Jimmie ( Tolly) is a wizard on the belt- makes those trams flat out perform. Give it a whirl- sure doesn't cost much <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
