I have been struggling with the idea of selling my DDF. I snagged it in the ganza and still haven't used it. I really wish I had gotten 2 of them now.

I sold it pretty soon after buying it and using it a bit. Not a fan of the saber grind, and it wasn't terribly sharp. I have big INFI choppers that outperform the DDF, so pretty much the only thing it has going for it was the res-c handle. I'm generally not in love with fat choppers, when a well sharpened and properly wielded thinner knife can generally come very close to matching the performance of a big fat monstrosity on many materials, and even beat the fattie in some materials.

Hey MM- buy yourself a couple cheapie Tramontina machetes and convex them <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. Tweak out the grip a bit to fit your hands and it will out chop just about anything out there <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />. Kinda like Mora knives. Jimmie ( Tolly) is a wizard on the belt- makes those trams flat out perform. Give it a whirl- sure doesn't cost much <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

or pick up a condor and have a nice rubber handle =) and a pretty nice lookin convex as well as a decent sheath for it....

i like my trams but i think the wood handle imacasa's tend to be beafier steel wise if you wanna do mods.... i got a few others but condor is definaly good stuff, and tram makes some good ones too and hansa ,

i dont know why i liked machetes so much... here when i get a few more projects outta the way we will see if i can post up some pics

MM, I understand what you mean.

So, if you don't mind, what is parallels? What is better about it than, say, bootcamp?

Parallels is virtualization software - it allows you to run Windows simultaneously with Mac OS X. That way, you can use Windows programs without rebooting into Windows.

With Boot Camp, you have to completely restart the computer every time you want to use Windows.

The cool thing is - parallels can work together with a Boot Camp installation, so you can run your windows install while also running mac os for normal uses, or you can reboot into windows if you need extra speed (like for games). Best of both worlds.
