Just wondering...
How many of you opted for the LE version?
Did you do it for looks, for 'collector' status of the LE,or.....?

I have both the CG and LE.
The LE is easily worth the extra money, IMO

I am most likely going to pick up the black version, as well.
I nearly forgot how nice these 'old style' handles felt. They really fit the hand nicely.

I do like the more bowie type clip on these, over the lesser clip on the old swamp rats.

Right on rooikat! I always felt that the BattleRat and Camp Tramp would have been better with a clip point/ more pointed blade. Tom

I got the LE for the looks and the potential collectors value, I do not intend to use it. I like it a lot. It is well made and very attactive. Well worth the money.

Once the credit card is paid down a bit I want to pick up a CG version for use and abuse.

I did kind of originally buy it as collector (being the first scrap blade LE), but it does beg to be used.
I waxed the blade a couple of times to help avoid rust issues, and it is currently sitting on my endtable, waiting for something to do.

I do have some firewood that needs to be killed.
However, we just got 2 puppies last night, so they are taking up all of my time....
I guess that makes 3 new dogs for me this week

rooikat - what kind of puppies? Last year someone dumped two puppies by my old house - when I went to check on things these two pups crawled out from under the porch. One is a pointer and the other a black & tan coon hound. They have grown into a couple of pretty good dogs, FULL of energy.

Ours are shelties. One male, one female. Their parents are showdogs, though we have no plans to show these professionally.
They look so much like mini full size collies, it is scary.
Thank God, they are sleeping right now, so I get a chance to go online. I was trying to change the grips on my 686 llst night when they were up and about; that was a major mistake.

Those shelties are pretty cute dogs - we were looking at them years ago at the Chicago Blackhawk Kennel Club Show. And you're right - it's hard to do ANYTHING when they're awake! I hope yours don't go through a "teething" stage like our pups did - NOTHING was safe in my garage. But you will have a couple of fine dogs when they are grown.
