I want to see Zombieland but my DVD is messed up and the old laptop is not good enough to watch a movie on it----speakers suck. You need to do what I do. I have a Sony 200 watt stereo. I have a cord that is RCA cables on one end (AKA A/V cables) and a standard 1/8" stereo headphone jack on the other end. I plug the headphone end into my laptop, and the RCA cable end into the input of my stereo. Ta-da! LOUD surround sound from a laptop. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> I also bought an extension headphone cable so the cord is longer.

most laptops have an output video wise... i then just full screen it and watch it on the tv.... tada ... instant dvd player/streaming hulu/ youtube/ downloaded video content....

Mine has an S-video output. I tried connecting it to the TV, but it wasn't a good picture. Fuzzy looking. I have a standard def glass tube TV, so DVDs and high-def internet videos look better on my LCD laptop display. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
