I hated to see Ted go too. I know the issue is something he personally felt very strong about. We did loose a great member, but a person has to do what they have to do.
The only reason I didn't leave recently is because of some of the guys here I like to talk to. I still think Dan's response to the regulator guard issue was completely inappropriate, and the wording of his post in ColdOne's sticky about possibly being banned is not only harsh, it's inaccurate. To say "deal with the guard, that's the way it is" is one thing - but to pretend like the issues folks have had with it aren't real, or that they are the opinion of a single person, is just plain dishonest. Look at Bruce's poll if you want to see what percentage of people around here have an issue with the guard, and tell me Dan's statement is true.
Plus, he has continually misinterpreted the circumstances that I, and several others, damaged the guard, and rather than admitting the flaw in his product, has accused us of damaging the guard through negligence... and the assumption that we damaged the guard by hitting it with a baton is simply flat-out wrong.
I might not be leaving the forums outright like Ted did, but I also won't be going to any Busse family sponsored dinners or anything like that - I don't approve of the way they have acted in this situation, and I consider myself their customer, not their friend.
