There's a cool thread on BF wilderness section-they are having a machete build off/contest by a bunch of the knifemakers...I hadn't read the thread at all until the other day and saw the organizer saying Horn Dog is doing the testing when they are ready!
Saw photos of some of the blades and folks are making some kick butt machetes!

Good on her. she's coping with it? Yeah, I think she'll make it. You know how they beat you down to a lowly worm in the first two weeks. She was at that stage when she wrote me. It's a real shock to slack-a** civilians. She likes the ground combat stuff, her new boots and camo, and her ever present M-16. The harassment is something she isn't used to. Welcome to military life! I expect her next letter will be a bit more positive. I encouraged her, but I know they scared the heck out of me when I was her age. It's all part of the training. I remember reading some of her sports and thinking they were great for building ..."grit"...that toughness that just makes you stick it out.

yeah until dan started releasing some of the info on the new regulator, alot of people were getting thin skinned, seems to have calmed down now, which is a good thing.

It's been rainy and cold all winter. My yard is a mess with all kinds of good stuff to chop and slash. Some folks golf. I whack things with large knives.

Yeah, the dogs were going at each other, as dogs sometimes do. I don't like every single knife Dan makes. So what? I like most of them fine. It isn't worth a bunch of hurt feelings to me. They're just knives. The folks on the forum and the brotherhood of the yard are what makes this place special.
