Thanks. Yes, holding an off-camera flash in one hand, shooting with the other, while standing knee deep in the water as the tide came in.

11 is a an opalescent nudibranch, Hermissenda Crassicornis. They're all tiny, but this was an especially small one – not much linger than the last joint on my pinkie.

Not much story – photographed it on a piece of seaweed, when I liked it's position and the light. The little fella was a real challenge.

It sure is a neat looking little creature. You should work for National Geographic.

A lot of people have suggested that I should try to get work with Nat Geo. I'm not sure we're well suited, because they want people who will also do many kinds of non-nature photojournalism that I don't want to do.
