Mainly what we do is just rag on each other. Like the last snow we had. This one Kid was just tooling around (when the sheriff indicated he would rather they stay on the good roads/or office catching up on paperwork unless they needed to go on a call). Anyway, this "kid" was on a gravel road looking for bad guys and got crossed up somehow. Well he ran off the road and finally got stopped by a tree! Need less to say the shreiff was not happy with the $800.00 repair bill! Well next day there was a flyer that mysteriously showed up saying that so and so's evasive driving course was rapidly gettin booked up and blah blah blah. And that he would also be explaining why trees don't yield to emergency vehicles!

I guess I get a little too serious sometimes. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> If "civilians" pulled the identical pranks on cops, would they be considered funny or criminal? Every time a ticket is written, it takes food off the table, and usually by folks who can ill-afford it. Often times other Cops are given a "courtesy pass" for doing things that would get "cililians" in trouble, maybe in jail. One of the Springfield TV stations was doing a special on law Enforcement with a reporter riding along, when the Cop's radar gun indicated a car going by at high speed. The Cop pulled him over, and after a brief discussion with the speeder he returned to the car. When the reporter asked about the incident, the Cop laughed and said he gave the guilty driver a "courtesy pass" because he was another Cop. The really sad thing is, the Cop obviously thought the reporter would go along with it, ALTHOUGH THE ENTIRE INCIDENT WAS RECORDED AND SHOWN ON TV!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> And don't get me started on the young gung-ho new Cops who are issued a badge and a gun, and are then ready to go clean up Tombstone!

Tom, I DO hear ya. As far as the ticket thing goes, I try really hard to NOT give them a reason to pull me over. Plus I know that there are folks out there that would say, look at Randy, just cause he works for the county he thinks he can get away with anything. Yes, the courtesy pass thing does go on. NO, I AM NOT saying it's right. I have always said If I get pulled over for anything I most probably am guilty. Except for that one night when I got pulled over on my way to work. We had just got a new trooper in our area and he recognized my car. I was going Maybe 62 in a 60 zone. I pulled over and waited for him to come up to the car. He said I saw you and figured you were on your way to work. I just wanted to ask you what your first name is. All he had ever heard was everyone else call me by my last name.
