Cut or split the mat. If that was a cut thats pretty impressive. Not sure. My wife just noticed when she was washing it up. I guess it is more likely to be a split but it is a thin mat.

The releases seem to vary. From my understanding they have been coming to us sharper lately. My Muk was the first one from the factory amd it was shaving sharp. So sharp that it sliced the finger print off of my thumb and left the skin nice and shiny. Call me crazy but I was happy a about that. The Yard Hook I bought from BF ws sold as having a factory edge and I still haven't gotten this one to where I'm hall with it. I can't really get a better edge on it than how t came so it's hard to complain. My S5CG was a little sharper than my S5LE.
