Morning Jared, Tstar, I'm back. Been trying to do some research on water purifiers/filters. Settin here in the largest fault line in the U.S. Seems like kinda sorta something I SHOULD have, and should have gotten a LONG time ago.

Thanks Tony. I try and put some funny stuff/nonsense in there when I can get my head to thinking about something that isn't TO stupid. We all need a laugh once in a while.
Sides, we got some Jrines on here and I am trying to teach them what a sense of humor means! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> btw tony, I'm retired AF.

yeah, we've got some stuff stored up. Canned goods, dried beans and peas and some rice. Nothing in BIG quantities, but enough to get us by long enough to either get somewhere else at leasure or until the relief is finally able to get started.

As far as filters/purifiers are concerned, here is what I figure.
IF/WHEN it hits, we could be looking at drinking ditch water, muddy ditch water after exhausting the water supply in the fridge/toilet/water heater and bath tub If we got enough time to put some in it as well. I am also considering that any outside water sources will possibly be contaminated with dead bodies fish fur and fowl not to mention possibly people. I know That the Guvnmt will get on board, eventually, but I don't want to depend on them any more than I have to. THEY can turn something good (relief effort) into a nightmare!

Oh and the wife and I were talking the other day and she said she thought it would be good to have some kind of filter/purifier. I figure on the two of us and a neighbor lady, she's 78. Still very spry for her age, does all her own housework and yardwork as well. But we really like her and have taken on trying to help her out at least in some things. Besides, her an my wife are both into "Crafting".

But in reality, we would probably have to provide (water) for several families on the block for at least a couple 4 or 5 days. No one else in the immediate area is really thinking about anything like that.

Now I'm not kidding myself. I am NO WHERE as prepaired for a disaster as a lot of the folks here but If we can get to my folks house about 2 miles away we will have it a LOT easier as far as food and heat are concerned.
