Hi all, BF convert here. I just got my scrapper six today, and this thing is great. Edge came a little rough, but waterstones and stropping fixed that up pretty well. I was wondering, did anyone else have an obviously ground in penetrator tip? Mine sure did, ground right through the coating. I like it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Nice. congrats! You're the first one to report having the penetrator tip on a scrapper. Not sure if I need it on mine as the stabbing ability is very high but I wouldn't mind if it was there.

No penetrator tip on my LE. There also is not one on my satin BR.

i wonder if the penetrator is only added to the coated blades?

Cardboard, some soft pine closet pole, etc. Work very well, penetrates like a sonofagun

I don't have any experience with Swiss rifles, but have heard and read some very good things about the Schmitt-Rubin. I used to work with a fellow whose Dad hunted with one, and he raved about it.

Believe me I am not savy...just spend enough time around some of these fine folks and pic up on a few little things.

my LE effectively has a pt just the way that the clip grinds come together - but nothing like the obvious tip on that CG model of BlondieStomp's... i wonder if you could request it specifically?

Just rechecked mine as well...No penetrator tip...In limited testing it sticks really good, so all is well!

I think the non-PT is fine - the Scrapper is a great knife!

I'll be at the Knob, too. Never been before. The Scrapper is a great knife...but the penetrator point is pretty awesome. Future option on LE models?

They are probably concentrating on the next model to be released, so haven't seen this thread.

Then that is OK, as long as the P. Tip is included or an option for future models.

I am still wondering if the Penetrator tip was a fluke or is it in its testing phase? Or was a grinder drunk while they made that one?

I once asked a knife dealer about my Buck Special, and why mine had a long, rakish blade, while others had a wider blade. He replied that it just depended on the person running the machine at that particular time.

Improved Quality Control is one of the major items that enabled the Japanese to dominate our auto industry. American companies SHOULD have learned a hard lesson from that. A quality product at a decent price will dominate its field every time.

Quality= Japan for cars, America for knives (mostly), France for cuisine, Germany or Austria for guns and Britain for police officers!

I really agree with the Guns part...Germany has always been an excellent arms dealer. Still...no love for the French...or their cooking!

I kinda prefer Chinese food personally but I figure China on my list would have been martial arts! We could agree to say France are good at losing wars!

Switzerland(DUH) for firearms, France/China/Japan for cuisine (sorry francophobes, nobody does duck, sauces, or dessert like the french), Japan for automobiles, THAILAND for fighting style, and America for knives and being able to buy everything else!

Sig Sauer are nice but I'd take a 10mm Glock over most anything else (and a Steyr AUG over anything else I've ever heard of). Forgot about Thailand for martial arts but after the ancient northern Indian priests 'invented' martial art the Chinese picked up the ball and ran with it...

10 mm is a hand cannon!! I would love to carry one , but training target shooting is just too expensive!

With gun laws in this country (Britain) it's nearly impossible to even see a working gun unless either a criminal (most of them) or a police officer (very rare) has the thing... I think I read somewhere that the biggest fans of gun control are criminals as it means the only gun at a burglary is theirs!

I don't want to pay that much for ammo in 10mm <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />.

My 226 is great, though a 210 would be better. Sphinxes are nothing to sneeze at either. The Sig 55x series rifles have got just about all of the other assault rifles beat in most categories, besides cost of manufacture.

As far as fighting styles, I'm a muay thai guy myself.

I've handled a 226 it is superb, I just prefer the shape of the Glock and having 15 10mm rounds in the grip! The AUG is a favorite because of its ergonomics and styling (having said that it's also one of the few guns as 'squaddie proof' as an AK...)

Style wise I'm 'resting' Ju-Jitsu and Chinese Boxing (really original Ju-Jitsu...) I quite fancy Jeet-Kune-Do at some point!

They were exceedingly nice, friendly people while i was in Paris. The arabs around Hyde Park were another story...

I was being 'British' (mostly) about the French, but the few I've had dealings with didn't impress... I definately agree about Arabs, when I went to Egypt they were a total pain in the [censored] the whole time. I should point out at this time I'm not a total xenophobe, I mean I do talk nicely to you guys!!!

it seems like people have a hard time figuring out whether the French (or any other group, for that matter) are nice, or snobby, or cool, or smart, or wusses, or whatever... geez, from all the different opinions, if i didn't know better, i would think that they aren't all alike!
Ok but seriously, i had a Sig P220 for a while, and it was nothing but trouble - cases jammed in the ejection port, the extractor prevented the slide from cycling by catching on the rim of the cartridge, etc, etc. So i sold it and got an HK USP Tactical .45... best firearm i have ever handled, a few years and a few thousand rounds later and not a single malfunction of any kind, not to mention it is lovely and beautiful and satisfies the part of one that appreciates fine engineering, precise tolerances and carefully hand-machined interlocking pieces of metal. Not to knock Sig, i prolly just got a lemon, which i know is rare...
