Klink, yes they are. I know you shouldn't use a .410 ga on them though!

Since you're on the West coast, do you have any recommendation on who to send my kit to for parkerizing? Or should it with a DIY kit? ARS (Arizona Response Systems) use to be considered the "Best" for FAL work. I don't know if "the Gunplumber" (Mark Graham) is still working on them....I've not built a FAL in 5 or 6 years. If you do send your FAL to him for finish work - and he still does the same quality work - you will NOT be disappointed. All of my DSA FAL's have had "inferior" looking finishes when compared to the one ARS FAL I've owned. I have an Imbel receiver that I built up using a completely unissued (as in MINT) Imbel kit. I had a guy in Ohio park it, and it looks really nice (especially considering I had the park work done in 2003 or 2004).

I have vieed a few of ARS rifles and he does great work but be ready to wait and pay some coin. Building a FAL is not bad at all if you have the proper tools. I used to frequent the FAL Files bck when it was a roll board and left a few years ago because of some internal strife, holy attitudes, etc. I still love the FAL, in fact I am thinking that a PARA might be in the future again.
