Hey Vic, I got that same rifle in a flat top, Got a Beeman SS4 scope on it, works GREAT!!! Happy, 4th, keep the faith. I was gonna put a picture of the last great act of defiance here, then I remembered the FAMILY friendly part. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Guess considering the holiday, I must be on my patriotic kick. Life Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We mistake these privileges for rights, they are not FREE rights, they have been earned for us by the very life's blood of those that came before us, and hopefully those of us here and those yet to come will continue with this grand tradition, against anyone that tries to take them away. For by being free, are we truly alive.

So true, but unfortunately most Americans still need to learn the difference between our rights and privileges and when to fight for our rights.

My other daughter, Bonnie was able to join us around midnight after she got off work. I saved some food and fireworks for her, so she didn't miss out. So it was a safe and happy Independence Day for us. There were still forbidden "civilian" fireworks going off all over the island late into the night. I told my daughters that they needed to work to restore all the freedoms that those in my generation had given away in the name of "safety" or "the children", or "national security". It was healthy to see an entire island in open defiance of unreasonable laws. The citizens who flocked to the official government fireworks displays were mired in traffic jams for hours as reward for their submission to our overlords. There is certainly nothing wrong with the public displays, and they are impressive, but some of us like to excercise some independence on Independence Day.

Edit: One last note. The nice lady who organized the tax protest tea party yesterday on St. Simons Island announced that several politicians had inquired about the protest. They were told that they were welcome to attend but would not be allowed to address the gathering. They could listen, as it was the people's turn to speak. Not one of them showed up.

HD, looks like you all had a great time. I think that the Tea Protest organizer's comments are great. More politicians should hear that.

It was a GREAT 4th here....Gunshow Sat A.M....tea party at 2P...3 dinners at friends...then our own fireworks. I wish all my buddy overseas could be here.....I thank Them and our forefathers for the opportunity to celebrate our countries Birthday.....also wish we could've had a ScrapYard 500 with all the DOGS together...but we'd run out of liquor..
