I had a NEF single shot that I never grew to like. I do like the round though and have kept my eye open for a nice bolt gun that I can utilize the 400+ pcs of brass I have sitting in an ammo can.

What should I pay for a Ruger 10/22?

That depends on what you want bull barrel/standard barrel, stock material, etc.

Bi-Mart always has them cheap so does Big5 around $160 or so (maybe less) for standard version.

I have a couple of 22 hornets. I love the round but it's hit and miss on the ammo, which is very expensive here. I reload most of my 22 hornet loads now.

Ths cheapest I've seen them around here lately was $179.99, and that's for the new cheaper plastic version. I picked up one of the last metal versions with a 20 inch barrel last year for $199.99. I've done a few modifications to it since and love it.

I have a Ruger 77 22 Hornet that I really like when shooting a 37 grain bullet reload. I have a CZ 527 American that I really LOVE. I regularly get 1/2 MOA or better with a 35 gr Hornady V-Max over 12.5 gr of Hodgdon Lil Gun with a Federal #100 small pistol primer. I highly recommend the CZ 527.

You like that CZ better than the Ruger?...You are the second person I have heard that from....I am going to have to study up on those...I have always been a Ruger fan...

The prices went way up on them at our Wal-Mart

I like the CZ 527 way better than a Ruger but have no time on either gun in the .22 Hornet. I do have a lot of time on .223 Rem for both actions and the 527 shines in accuracy, fit, and looks.

I see Rugers go for 170- 190 around here all the time and that is for a new one. If I get a 10/22 again I want an International stock version or the Wal-Mart special that had the longer ss brl in a greenish laminated stock.
