Scrap Yard Knives are continuing to amaze me at every turn. Now how do they top the S-5 release? Never happen. that's what I said about the SOD.

I would say my favorite is still the DMDC but the S5 is growing on me.

I wish I had a SS4 and a RMD to compare. How does the SS4 balance compared to the S5? Sumoj, I just left you a long post addressing a bunch of knives and their balance points at this thread: constructive advice on Scrapper 5 But, for a quick reply about the SS4, the SS4 balances perfectly at the middle of the index finger. .

I just bought another SS4; bottom line was a tad over $200 and it has a couple coating rubs (it also has a factory leather pocket sheath). That may have been a poor purchase if plentiful S5 LEs in INFI are released for about the same price, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm not saying it won't happen, but there's no guarantee, so I decided not to let this deal pass me by.
I like the Scrapper 5 a lot; as a matter of fact, I might even consider it a nearly perfect all-arounder -- if I had to pick just one knife to take into a camping/combat/survival situation, the S5 might well be it. However, and I'll qualify this statement by admitting I'm not in a position to EDC any fixed-blade at my office, but my opinion is that the S5 is a bit large for an EDC. Even an S4 will make sheeple squirm; an S5 could panic them into a stampede.

I like the SS5 alot as well. I need to compare it to the RMD and see what grips feels best after some use.

Yeah, the Vex is about as large as I'm comfortable going for an EDC. Plus, the design of the Vex is a fairly benign looking design. I had one guy at the office comment that it looked like a kitchen knife. A knife like the new High Street from Busse, while actually having a shorter cutting surface than the Vex, looks a lot "meaner" and is more likely to get some eyebrows raised as an EDC.
The scrapper 5 definitely looks like a hunting knife, and I could see that throwing people off and making them uncomfortable.
