An adjunct to a larger chopper for small/delicate-ish tasks or an absolute minimum solo bush blade. Some thing unobtrusive, but still a "real knife" (you could cut/split firewood, build a shelter with it at a pinch) that can go into a smallish survival pouch or a day pack. A bit like what the bushcraft crowd call a bushcraft knife. Can't over emphasise how happy I am with the size. Exactly what I was hoping for
+1 That's why I love mine so much.

I think Vegemite may be the only thing that voids the Scrap Yard warranty... LOL. I cant say that I have had Vegemite but I am sure your warranty is just fine <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Enjoy Dan

Don't need to worry about the warranty, the finish held up just fine!
It was recently in the papers here, that they are going to manufacture a diluted version of vegemite - I think it will be mixed with cream cheese from memory - for the US market.
The US: weak vegemite, weak beer - but strong knives. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

After listening to Men at Work in the eighties I wanted to try Vegemite. Once I got my chance to taste it I cursed that band for a long time!
