Since the new "Ultra Convex" bevel is only 1 degree off a flat grind, it is almost a flat grind. To me, "Ultra" means very or extreme, not barely. But whatever the terminology, the knife has "proven to be a very effective chopper and all around great camp knife". That's the important part. If it works, it works. I am pretty sure the folks at Busse tested the new Rodent and liked the way it chopped. You can clearly see the temper line or hamon on my M9LE. It is differentially tempered. I am wondering if the new Rodent is through tempered and the new CNC convex grind was used to add some strength. Just speculating. It doesn't really matter. Busse tests their knives far beyond anything I do with a knife, so whatever it is, it will be tough. And since the new 911 will have a high bevel "almost" flat grind, it should be fairly light in the hand.
