The DF is also a good blade for zombies but it but them a little more closer than I like. I need to get Rainwalker to make me a rig for my "larger baldes".

Zombie survival guide and world war z are both fun to read, but the ultimate zombie reading material is The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman!

It's a comic book, but the series has been going long enough that they have compiled them into volumes, which you can pickup at barnes & noble and borders. It has a lot of great characters which you feel for when they try and live day by day with the zombies, and the greatest part is that the zombies are just regular zombies, no crazy running zombies

Agreed...I want a little more distance between me and the zombies. The DF would be my backup knife

I'm still not sure if the waki could beat my ice axes as a zombie defense tool. They are light, I'm pretty skilled at swinging them, and they are crazy accurate and able to bite deep. I could take out some zombie brains pretty quick with those suckers

the biggest disadvantage I see to using a ice axe is the fact that if you make contact into a zombie it will stick.....this is fine if you have one zombie to worry about but when do they travel alone. The time it takes to pull it out and reset could mean the difference.

When you've climbed with ice axes, you learn to un-stick them just about as fast as you can stick them. And that's why you wield two - stick one while you're pulling the other free

This is a web link to the museum in Louisville. It is pretty cool and it is really close to the Slugger museum too.
